We are currently seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Pole Dresser to join our team in Hervey Bay. The ideal candidate will have a background in working with hardwood poles and utilising machinery to measure customer customer orders.


Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing machinery such as chainsaws and milling machines to measure customer orders and make poles to specific sizes.
  • responsible for the prefabrication of hardwood poles & other products to meet customer requirements.
  • Maintain safe working practices (including completing daily machinery prestart checklist) & environmental awareness whilst performing prefabrication of hardwood products. Meet production level to meet customer requirements. Safe machinery operation. Volume of treatment per month and safety record.
  • Complete process control documentation on completion of each task & all relevant paperwork is correct. No major errors when documentation is checked off to actual production.
  • Participate efficiently in stock takes.
  • Housekeeping. All prefab areas are in clean condition. Daily inspection by Assistant Manager
  • No lost time injuries or accidents or incidents.
  • Entering and monitoring of FOCUS incidents and tasks and Internal Audits.
  • High Quality of production to meet customer requirements.


Qualifications:

  • Competency in Chainsaws.
  • Competency in Pole Specifications.
  • Communication Skills and Operation of UHF radio.
  • Competency in Pole Prefab Operation and Timber Knowledge.
  • Knowledge in Timber Preservation Processes.
  • Knowledge of the Industry and Markets we operate in.
